Privacy policy

Transferinho is built so that your files never pass through or stay on any server. This page lists everything the website and the Android app do collect, which is very little. Last updated 2 November 2026.

Your files

Files go directly from one device to the other over an end-to-end encrypted WebRTC connection. They are never uploaded to, stored on or readable by our server. When a direct connection is impossible, the encrypted data may pass through a Cloudflare relay (TURN), which can’t read it and doesn’t keep it.

The room key lives only in the room link, after the “#”, which browsers never send to a server.

What we record

Anonymous usage counts, so we know whether the service is used and works: when a page is opened and when someone joins a room. Each event holds only:

  • country, region and city, as estimated by Cloudflare from the connection;
  • browser, operating system and device type (desktop, mobile or tablet);
  • for room events, a one-way hash of the room ID that can’t be turned back into the room or its key.

We do not record IP addresses, file names, file contents, room keys or any account details (there are no accounts). There are no cookies, no advertising and no third-party trackers. The counts are kept for about three months.

Who processes data

The site and the Android app’s content are served by Cloudflare. To deliver the service and protect it from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as IP addresses, for example for rate limiting; our own request logs are kept for a few days for debugging and are then deleted. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

What the other device sees

As with any direct connection (video calls, games, torrents), the two devices in a room learn each other’s IP address. Each side is also shown the other’s browser and operating system, and a country flag from Cloudflare’s lookup.

The Android app

The app shows the Transferinho website and adds a few phone features. It collects nothing beyond what is described above.

  • Received files are saved on your phone: photos in Pictures/Transferinho, videos in Movies/Transferinho, everything else in Download. The app asks for no storage permission and can’t read your other files.
  • Files you share to the app from other apps are read only to send them to the device you connect to.
  • Network access is used to connect the two devices; the screen is kept on during a transfer.

Your choices and contact

Because we hold no personal data tied to you, there is nothing to look up, export or delete. For any privacy question, contact the developer through stankomladenovic.com.
